Why don’t you have a landing page?

Stop making excuses. Start collecting emails.

With all the buzz around ConvertKit’s Landing Page Challenge people I know have been asking:

Why?

Why all the fuss about landing pages? Why are they so important? Why should I take the time and put in the effort to create one?

Excuse #1: I don’t have anything to sell yet!

Great! If you don’t have anything to sell yet but you intend to in the future now is the perfect time to be building your list. That way when you finally do launch you will already have an audience ready to buy.

Excuse #2: I don’t have a website yet!

No worries. You don’t need to create a whole site in order to start collecting leads, especially if you choose to go with ConvertKit. They have landing page tools that make it easy to build a landing page fast. You can do it in 5 minutes. I prove it in this video: Start an email list in 5 minutes — without a website

Excuse #3: No one will give me their email addresses!

Simple fix: Stop asking for their email addresses and start offering to send them something.

Okay, no more excuses… how do I build this thing?

  1. Start with the Lead Magnet (see Excuse #3).
  2. Create a Landing Page that automatically sends out said Lead Magnet when a person provides their email address (ConvertKit makes this easy).
  3. Write some solid copy that convinces said person that your Lead Magnet will actually solve their problem (stay tuned for a follow-up article detailing this step).

Now what are you waiting for? Ship it!
