The 10 Steps to a Successful Online Summit
Hosting an online summit is an overwhelming process. There are so many moving pieces!
Without going through the process yourself you can’t possibly know what those moving pieces are or how they interact—unless you have someone experienced show you what’s “behind the curtain.”
That’s why I was so glad to have Krista Miller of Summit in a Box to guide me through every step of the process when I ran my first virtual summit last year. I’ll be sharing my whole story here soon, but in the meantime, Krista gave me permission to share some of her secrets with you here on Medium.
Throughout this article I will be using affiliate links. I only ever affiliate with offers that I fully support. As a Summit in a Box student myself, I highly recommend what Krista has to offer. If you sign up through my link I will get a thank-you in return at no extra cost to you.
Ideally these 10 steps will take place over a 90-day period, so keep that in mind as you read. You don’t have to do all of this at once! Hosting a summit is a huge undertaking. Take it one step at a time. If you really want to skip the overwhelm, scroll to the end for a free way to jump-start your own summit hosting journey!
One last thing before I dive into the 10 steps: If you’d rather listen than read, check out this Summit Host Hangout podcast episode:
